Innocence 缅北强奸's Annual Conference
Innocence 缅北强奸 presents its annual conference, which this year welcomes Michel Dumont and Danielle Dansereau.
Speakers
Michel Dumont was wrongfully convicted of a sexual assault he did not commit. He spent three years behind bars and was only exonerated in 2001 with the help of family members who never gave up on this fight. He will be sharing his story.
Danielle Dansereau is the screen writer of 'L'Affaire Dumont,' a movie that chronicled Dumont's wrongful conviction and eventual exoneration. She will discuss her experiences writing the screenplay, and she will share her insights regarding wrongful convictions in Canada from a film-inspired perspective.
Justice Carol Cohen, Quebec Superior Court, will moderate the event.
A reception will follow in the atrium.
'L'Affaire Dumont' will be shown on March 13, at 19:30 in the Moot Court.
To attend either the movie on March 13 or the talk on March 14, RSVP is required to innocence.law [at] mail.mcgill.ca by Monday, March 10.
A request for 1.5 hours of Continuing Legal Education accreditation has been made to the Barreau du Qu茅bec.
