Inter Gentes and the Centre for Human Rights & Legal Pluralism are pleased to invite you to a panel discussion entitledÌýThe Contemporary Crossroads between the Human Right to Water and the Legal Personhood of Water under International Law.ÌýIn acknowledgement of the World Day for Water, this event will explore both how the global climate crisis has impacted human rights to natural resources like water and how, contrary to a traditional anthroprocentric focus of the right to water, the increased legal personification of nature has inspired more pluralistic legal philosophies.

  • Yenny Vega Cardenas,ÌýPhD in Water Law,Ìýpresident of theÌýInternational Observatory of Nature RightsÌýand author of “La construction du statut juridique de l’eau au Canada et au Mexiqueâ€
  • Kayley Laura Lata,ÌýHead of Political Affairs atÌýThe International Observatory of Nature RightsÌýand lecturer on the rights of Nature to political parties and environmental organizations.
