PEER SUPPORT & ACTIVE LISTENING

Supporting a friend who is struggling with mental health issues can be challenging. We want to help, and yet we don't always know the right thing to say or do. This workshop will allow participants to become better supporters by developing and refining your active listening skills through role playing. Being a good peer supporter means practicing empathy, validating the other person's experiences and refraining from judgement. Peer support is a skill that can be taught and learned over time like any other; it just takes some practice!
