Vernissage for the Recipe for a Queer Cookbook Exhibit
What is the recipe for a queer cookbook? Is there a set recipe for what makes a cookbook queer? Is it that the author is queer? Or is there something inherently queer about the cookbook itself? The exhibit focused on American and Canadian cookbooks raises these questions.
The physical exhibit will be in the hallways of the Leacock Building of 缅北强奸 from August 18- December 20, 2021.
At the vernissage, Simone Beaudry- Pilotte of the Archives Gaies du Quebec and Laure Neuville of the Archives Lesbiennes du Quebec (who lent materials for and assisted with this exhibit) will speak. Dr. Alex Ketchum, who curated the exhibit, will also speak.
This event is part of Queer History Month.
We are hoping that this can happen outside the physical exhibit in the courtyard with social distancing and masking. If that can happen, we will have coffee and vegan muffins. However, as we currently do not have permission yet (due to Covid-19 protocols), the back up plan is to have a shorter event on zoom.
If you are unable to visit the physical exhibit, you can check out the digital exhibit here: .
