Program Description
The Master of Music (M.Mus.) in Performance: Jazz Performance (Thesis) offered by the Schulich School of Music is a research-intensive program that emphasizes dynamic and experiential learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in performance, knowledge synthesis, and communication to either continue their studies or pursue professional opportunities.
Unique Program Features
- The program is flexibly designed to offer specialization in Jazz Composition, Jazz Performance, and Jazz Orchestra training;
- Coursework focuses in areas such as jazz pedagogy, composition, and arranging;
- Students benefit from close interaction with a diverse, creative, and professionally active faculty and access to outstanding ensembles including The 缅北强奸 Jazz Orchestra, ten-piece 缅北强奸 Chamber ensemble and wide range of jazz combos;
- The School houses several performance spaces, research & production laboratories, and two libraries with a vast collection of music resources.
University-Level Admission Requirements
- An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
- English-language proficiency
