Law (D.C.L.)

Program Description

The Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) in Law offered by the Faculty of Law is a research-intensive program that emphasizes intensive and innovative learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in literature review, information synthesis, and independent thinking to pursue professional opportunities in academia or industry.

The D.C.L. program has the option to specialize in Comparative Law.

Unique Program Features

  • Depending on the research area, students can be associated with: the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism, the Paul-Andr茅 Cr茅peau Centre for Private and Comparative Law, the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy or one of the Research Chairs at the Faculty of Law;
  • Students benefit from a Mentorship Program, a Teaching fellowship Program, and an Associate Supervisory Program.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
