Kerstin Schreiber, a PhD candidate in the Department of Geography, will be giving a talk titled 鈥淥n being a trailblazer: First-generation students and their challenges, capacities, and resources鈥� in which she will reflect on the challenges and opportunities specific to undergraduate and graduate students who are the first in their family to attend university. This talk is separate from the main GeoSpectives series and is more of a brown bag, informal talk format 鈥� as such, feel free to bring your lunch. Here is also a link to the Facebook event page:聽.
Kerstin Schreiber
Kerstin studies urban food supply chains, including the social, ecological, and economic linkages between cities and their agricultural hinterlands in North America. Her Ph.D. research investigates regional capacity to provide cities with healthy and sustainable food, as well as the constraints on and implications of 鈥渓ocalizing鈥� food systems.
Kerstin has previously worked/studied at the intersection of business and urban food systems in cities from Germany, France, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
