Mission Statement

To provide First Nations, Inuit andÌýMétis students attending Ã山ǿ¼é with a "home away from home", where they can find support and encouragement to succeed in their studiesÌýand remain connected to their culture.

Our ObjectivesÌý

  1. To help increase the admission and retention rates of Indigenous students studying at Ã山ǿ¼é.
  2. To promote and increase the accessibility of Student Services at Ã山ǿ¼é to Indigenous students.
  3. To meet the concerns of Indigenous communities which include educational programming and policies which are culturally relevant to Indigenous peoples.
  4. To raise awareness within the Ã山ǿ¼é community regarding the past, present, and future aspirations of Indigenous peoples through the promotion of activities that encourage interactions between Indigenous and Ã山ǿ¼é students and staff.
  5. To collaborate and engage with the Ã山ǿ¼é, local and national First Nations, Inuit andÌýMétis communities to support Indigenous student issues.
  6. To ensure and enhance the continuity and prosperity of First Peoples’ House services.
