Nadia Myre: The Scar Project Workshop

Wednesday, February 20, 2013 14:00to17:00
Wilson Hall 3506 rue University, Montreal, QC, H3A 2A7, CA

This is the second event in a two-part series. Indigenous Access Ã山ǿ¼é and the First Peoples’ House are hosting Algonquin artist Nadia Myre for an artist talk on Wednesday, February 6 at 3 pm in the Wendy Patrick Room, Wilson Hall. Myre’s artwork is inspired by participant involvement as well as recurring themes of identity, language, longing and loss.

Myre returns for the Scar Project workshop on Wednesday, February 20 from 2-5 pm in the Wendy Patrick Room, Wilson Hall.

The Scar Project is an open lab experience where people sew, with various fibres and threads, a canvas representation of a physical, emotional, psychological, or spiritual scar they may have, and write out the accompanying narrative.

Both events are free; however space is limited. Registration is required for the workshop. Please register no later than Friday, February 8 by emailing courtney.montour [at] mcgill.ca or dana-marie.williams [at] mcgill.ca.
