We are pleased to announce a Faculty-wide call for applications for the Richard and Sylvia Cruess Faculty Scholar in Health Sciences Education, as outlined below. Applications are due January 31, 2021 for funds to be awarded as of September 1, 2021.
THE RICHARD & SYLVIA CRUESS FACULTY SCHOLAR IN HEALTH SCIENCES EDUCATION
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
Overall Goal
The goal of this opportunity is to promote excellence and scholarship in health sciences education (HSE) by providing a one-year stipend of $15,000 to a faculty member in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, to pursue research and scholarly activity in HSE. It is expected that the Cruess Faculty Scholar will spend a minimum of one day per week at the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE), participating in IHSE activities and pursuing research in health sciences education.
Deadline for Applications
The deadline for applications is January 31, 2021 for funds to be awarded as of September 1, 2021.
Application Process
To apply, please submit: (1) a copy of your CV; (2) a one-page description of your activities and achievements in HSE to date; (3) a two-page description of what you hope to achieve as a Cruess Faculty Scholar, as well as your proposed topic of research and how you will contribute to the life of the Institute; and (4) a letter of support from your Departmental Chair.
At the end of the year, the Cruess Faculty Scholar is expected to provide a written summary of their scholarly work, present their research to members of the Institute of Health Sciences Education, and pursue dissemination in a variety of venues.
