Prof. Miriam Shuchman is a psychiatrist and a freelance journalist. A former national correspondent for the New England Journal of Medicine, she now writes news features on biomedical science and bioethics for the Lancet, the Canadian Medical Association Journal and other outlets. Her 2005 book, The Drug Trial, won awards from the Writers’ Trust of Canada and the Canadian Science Writers Association. Miriam is also associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Toronto and a member of the clinical team at the University of Toronto Scarborough Health & Wellness Centre.
This talk will be co-hosted with the Institute for Health and Social Policy.
