On January 2017, University Affairs published an article titled 'Beware! Academics are getting reeled in scam journals'. The article highlighted some of the common fears and concerns surrounding publishing in today's academic landscape.听

This leads many graduate students and faculty members to wonder: how can you what's a credible publication or conference? Is this a legitimate solicitation to publish my thesis or a scam? This session will discuss predatory publishing, how to identify a legitimate publisher, what resources are available to help researchers on-campus, as well as the common myths and perceptions surrounding Open Access. Lively discussion is encouraged!听
