During the week of November 7th-12th, several members of the Department of Family Medicine participated in the Family Medicine Forum (FMF) conference hosted by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) at the Toronto Metro Convention Center. This iteration of FMF was extra special for the participants because it was the first time in three years since the conference was held in person. Our clinician leaders were in attendance and participated in many professional development sessions and committee meetings throughout the week. We had additional participation from our amazing team of Postgraduate administrators who attended the Family Medicine National Education Administrators (FMNEA) conference held during FMF on Nov 8th and 9th.

Our very own Mrs. Ann Continelli (Jewish General Hospital site Administrator) was also nominated for the FMNEA Administrative Award of Excellence this year. Ann鈥檚 nomination was recognized by the FMNEA Executive Committee during an award ceremony on November 8th. Our heartfelt congratulations and appreciation for Ann鈥檚 contributions towards our residency program were celebrated at large while the team was in Toronto.
Drs. Alexia De Simone and Madison Meehan, two family medicine residents at the Herzl Family Medicine Clinic presented a virtual poster on their quality improvement project completed at Herzl, which aimed to increase screening for sexually transmitted infections among asymptomatic, sexually active individuals seen in resident clinics. Both Drs. De Simone and Meehan completed their medical training at 缅北强奸 and are passionate about adolescent medicine and resident-led initiatives. Dr. Meehan is currently co-chief resident at the Herzl clinic and Dr. De Simone previously completed her Masters in Microbiology and Immunology at 缅北强奸.
Our Postgraduate team also participated in the exhibit hall during the conference and Ms. Julie Lane and Ms. Alana Walsh-Ferland were on site to promote the 缅北强奸 Family Medicine residency program, speak with medical students and hug our alumni who stopped by our booth to reconnect with the members of our Department. It truly was a special week!
