Microaggressions and Microinterventions in the Classroom

As we get better at recognizing microaggressions in the classroom, the next step is learning how to respond when they arise. If you are interested in developing your skills at microintervening, the term used when we engage these difficult moments for positive change, this interactive workshop is for you.
By attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the term microaggression and how they show up in the learning environment
  • Understand the term microintervention and the different forms it can take听
  • Understand the benefits of microinterventions on student and instructor experience and well-being
  • Identify and practice applying microintervention strategies for responding to microaggressions
