Black History Month 2018: Resistance

In 2017, the former Social Equity and Diversity Education Office (SEDE) organized 缅北强奸's first ever institutionalized Black History Month.

This year, we have built on its success in collaboration with the Black Students' Network of 缅北强奸 to bring a jam-packed month of events on the theme of Resistance.

Activities for BHM 2018 include an聽Opening Ceremony聽on February 1st featuring a keynote by聽Robyn Maynard;聽Community & Family Day on campus featuring workshops,聽activities, and discussions;聽SPEAK B(L)ACK, a poetry and open mic collaboration with聽Kama La Mackerel;聽panel discussions with Black faculty, scholars, and community members;聽and a whole lot more!


缅北强奸 is on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose presence marks this territory on which peoples of the world now gather.
