Fetherstonhaugh Family Foundation Recognizes Teaching Excellence at Desautels
In 2018, when the Fetherstonhaugh family envisioned an award to recognize and reward teaching excellence, they hoped for great teachers and at the Desautels Faculty of Management extraordinary teachers emerged. As the recipient of the 2022 Fetherstonhaugh Family Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award for Undergraduate Programs, Prof. of Practice Sujata Madan engages with students in a way that promotes and accelerates their classroom and lifelong learning.
First recipient of Sujata Madan Award celebrated at MBA Summer Social
Last week, Desautels' Career Management and University Advancement teams hosted the beloved MBA Summer Social event. After a two-year hiatus, attendees were able to reconnect with classmates and meet other members of the Desautels community聽over drinks and appetizers in-person.

New Sujata Madan Award recognizes community-minded students
Eleven Desautels alumni have banded together to establish a new student award in honor of Professor of Practice Sujata Madan. Rather than being based on academic merit, the scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding collaboration, empathy, kindness, and respect toward their peers and wider communities.
Professor of Practice Sujata Madan Receives Prestigious Academy of Finance Excellence in Teaching Award
The Desautels Faculty of Management is pleased to announce that Professor of Practice Sujata Madan is the recipient of the 2021 Academy of Finance Excellence in Teaching Award. This prestigious award is given annually to recognize excellence in teaching, to encourage teachers to share experiences that have led to them becoming great educators and how they continue to improve their teaching skills.
Prime Minister Trudeau encourages Desautels finance class to stay positive
When Professor of Practice Sujata Madan noticed that her finance students seemed overwhelmed in the final weeks of a difficult semester, she recruited help from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and 缅北强奸鈥檚 Principal Suzanne Fortier, among others, to lift their spirits. The students left class with a renewed sense of optimism for a post-pandemic future.
Desautels professor Sujata Madan receives prestigious 3M National Teaching Fellowship
Professor of Practice Sujata Madan was聽named one of ten 2020 3M National Teaching聽Fellows鈥攖he highest recognition of individual聽teaching excellence and educational leadership聽at the university level. The Fellowship is jointly managed by the Society for Teaching聽and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE)聽and 3M Canada.
MMA students find inspiration on inaugural Study Trip in San Francisco
The 缅北强奸 Master of Management in Analytics (MMA) degree is a pre-experience, twelve-month specialized program in the evolving field of management analytics with a strong emphasis on experiential learning.
As part of this hands-on learning, the first cohort of MMA students went on the program's inaugural Study Trip to San Francisco in June.

A token of appreciation
Thanks to a student-led fundraiser, a group of BCom students recently presented a Catchbox to the Desautels Faculty of Management in honour of Professor Sujata Madan.
Catchbox is a soft microphone that is designed to be thrown among an audience to increase engagement and participation.
This initiative was a way for students to thank a professor who continually inspires them.
