Budding Bill Gates and Donald Trumps take note: Mini-Biz 2008 is getting ready to open shop.
The six-week public lecture series, running from Sept. 16 to Oct. 28, will feature 缅北强奸 profs from the Desautels Faculty of Management expounding on everything from leadership and technology to how business and society are intertwined.
This dynamic outreach program will provide participants 鈥 no matter what their academic backgrounds or career goals -- with a window onto the complex challenges facing businesses today, and help them better understand the rapidly changing global economy.
In the first lecture, on Tuesday, Sept. 16, Professor David M. Lank will speak about 鈥淢aking Successful Mistakes.鈥 Such historic 鈥渕istakes鈥 as Columbus鈥檚 voyages 鈥渁re what give our entire economic, political and social systems their underlying vitality,鈥 says Professor Lank, who was written 47 books on subjects ranging from wildlife art to gourmet food.
The second talk, on Sept. 23, will feature Professor Karl Moore on 鈥淧ostmodern Leadership: How to Win in Today鈥檚 Workplace.鈥 In this lecture, based on his interviews with more than 40 CEOs and over 200 鈥淢illennials,鈥 Professor Moore will discuss how the Y and Millennial generations have been brought up, and how this affects the way we manage, work with and lead these critical employees.
Other topics for this popular series include 鈥淓arth: Living in a Branded World,鈥 and 鈥淐reative Accounting: Interpreting Financial Statements in a Post-Enron World.鈥 Advance registration and payment is recommended.
