For most undergraduate students, final exams are about to start. I sincerely hope they go well for you, and that you find the time to study and enter the exam room prepared. Please be sure to check out thefinal exam regulations, and be ready. If, due to extenuating circumstance, you cannot write your final, you may be able to defer an exam—but it is essential to be aware that deferred exam policies differ by Faculty, socheck out the rules. For some Faculties, you may not be required to have “proof” of illness in order for your deferred exam request to be approved, but you do need a valid reason. (Your travel schedule, or the final exam schedule, don’t count.) Extenuating circumstance means things like significant illness, or a life event that makes it impossible to write your exam on the scheduled date and time. Deferring is no picnic either, as you will need to write that exam some months later, and reviewing your old notes, at a later date, can be challenging. While deferring an exam is an option to help you, please don’t take it lightly. To all: good luck on your final exams. Study hard, stay well.
