This talk will invite you to think outside the box and question some of the things you thought you knew about how to improve thinking, reasoning, or self-control. It will invite you to see the whole person (mind and body, intellect and emotions) as fundamentally interrelated. It will look at different approaches to improving cognition such a computerized training, neurofeedback, physical activity, and mindfulness. It will look at the roles of stress, pride, hope, shame, and a sense of belonging in cognitive performance.
