Child Friendly Space: The Re-Settlement Challenge Facing Syrian Refugees
The Irish Community of Montreal and the 缅北强奸 Centre for Research on Children and Families, are supporting Child Friendly Space (CFS), an initiative to organize activities for newly arriving Syrian children including:
- games, sports, singing, drama and puppet-making
- informal learning opportunities in reading, basic hygiene and life lessons
- creative play, stories and group interactions to allow for the children to express their feelings of fear and loss through
This information session will explore an objective to source laptops, iPads and electronic games and funds to purchase such resources for the CFS project.
Supporting Syrian children through the provision of laptops, iPads, electronic games and the like is an integral way to support their emotional, social and educational development and integration in Montreal society.
Speakers will include:
- Adnan Mahameed, leader of the CFS project and Syrian refugee
- The Montreal City Mission, supporter of the CFS project
- A member of the Irish Community
- A member of the 缅北强奸鈥檚 CRCF
