Development of the food processing sector - Minister Lamontagne launches a new version of the "Programme Transformation Alimentaire" with a $40 million budget

QU脡BEC, March 19th, 2024聽/CNW/ -聽Andr茅 Lamontagne, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Minister responsible for the Centre-du-Qu茅bec region, has announced a new version of the "Programme Transformation Alimentaire" (PTA), with a budget of $40 million. The PTA aims to improve productivity, competitiveness and environmental performance in the food processing sector.

The PTA supports companies in their automation and robotization projects, market development and the implementation of environmental solutions in slaughterhouses and cheese dairies. It also aims to support companies in implementing or updating a food safety and quality management system.

Companies will be able to apply for financial assistance under the program on an ongoing basis from April 15, 2024, until credits run out. An envelope of $40 million has been set aside for this purpose. The maximum financial assistance available per applicant is $750,000 for the duration of the program, which runs until March 31, 2026.
