Ten students have been named 缅北强奸鈥檚 recipients of the prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarship, Canada鈥檚 largest Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) scholarship.

缅北强奸 graduate Seymour Schulich, BSc鈥61, MBA鈥65, DLitt鈥04, an entrepreneur and one of Canada鈥檚 leading philanthropists, created the scholarship fund in 2012 to encourage outstanding entrepreneurial-minded students on their paths to becoming technology innovators.

A record number of 缅北强奸 students have been named recipients of Canada鈥檚 largest scholarship program, Schulich Leader Scholarships. This year, the program has doubled in size from 50 to 100 annual scholarships. In total, six Schulich Leader scholars will begin their studies at 缅北强奸 in September (up from two last year) with the majority coming from high schools in Western Canada.

Allison Gonsalves and Dawn Wiseman, of our Department of Integrated Studies in Education, presented their聽Teaching Science in Homework Zone pilot project at two Montreal-area schools this year. These workshops, presented to elementary school students in an after-school setting, have the goal of showing聽science-based materials in an engaging and accessible fashion. The project recruited 14 volunteer students from Science Education with DISE聽and from the Faculty of Science聽to work together and聽design three workshops, each about 45 minutes in length.

On March 4th, 2018, over 200 undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers flocked to the University of Western Ontario to attend the 2nd Biennial . The conference focused on inspiring and supporting young women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) by providing the opportunity to network with and learn from established women in STEM fields.
