Following a five-year term as Chief Executive Officer of Bombardier Inc., Alain Bellemare (MBA鈥93) was recently named the president-international of Delta Air Lines. With a successful track record of leadership in the aerospace industry, Bellemare will work to improve the global reputation and financial stability of Delta, the world鈥檚 top airline in revenue, in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Private equity firm The Carlyle Group has named Alain Bellemare (MBA鈥93) as an operating executive consultant for the company鈥檚 global aerospace, defense and government services group.
As an operating executive, the former president and CEO of Bombardier will identify new investment and partnership opportunities while helping to build, grow and transform portfolio companies across Carlyle鈥檚 global platform.
Effective September 15, 2018, Danny Di Perna (MBA鈥97) will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer 鈥 Aerospace at Bombardier.
In this new position, Di Perna will report directly to Alain Bellemare, President and Chief Executive Officer, Bombardier Inc. and will be responsible for leading the company鈥檚 aerospace engineering, procurement and transformation functions.

Bombardier says it has no plans to pull the plug on the CSeries even though its efforts to secure a rescue deal from Airbus stoked fears about the future of the aircraft program and the company itself.
