Alzheimer鈥檚 disease is a disorder characterized by abnormalities in several different biological areas.

A study carried out by HBHL-funded researcher Yasser Iturria-Medina and his research group, in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at The Neuro, represents the first and largest multimodal data collection effort to date for Alzheimer鈥檚 disease.

This work represents the most significant effort so far to classify Alzheimer's disease from a multi-level molecular perspective.

What is the link between substance use and psychosis? Is there a higher chance to develop psychotic disorders for people who use cannabis?

Dr. Rachel Rabin, HBHL-funded researcher at The Neuro, is working to understand the neurocognitive and social cognitive dysfunction in individuals with substance use disorders.

The aim of her study is to help identify therapeutic targets to improve treatments for individuals suffering from schizophrenia and/or cannabis addictions.

On October 6, HBHL-funded researchers at The Neuro published work in Nature Methods that takes a big step towards making this idea a reality. This effort comes out of the Helmholtz International BigBrain Analytics & Learning Laboratory (HIBALL) initiative combining neuroscience and artificial intelligence to build highly detailed 3D models of the brain at the cellular level.

Today, The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) announced 102 new Fellows and 54 new Members of the College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists.
