For most people, the end of a war offers relief, hope, and an end to violence. This may not be the case for children born of wartime rape, however, who often endure continued brutality in the post-war period.

That finding emerges from a new study of children born to mothers who were abducted, held captive, and sexually violated by members of the Lord鈥檚 Resistance Army (LRA), a rebel group led by Joseph Kony during the civil war in northern Uganda from 1986 to 2007.

The 缅北强奸 School of Social Work invites applications for a full鈥恡ime tenure鈥恡rack position with an expected start date on August 1st 2017. Appointment is expected to be at the rank of Assistant Professor, but appointment at a higher rank is possible under exceptional circumstances. The successful candidates will have at least three years of direct practice experience with individuals, families or groups, the ability to maintain an active funded research agenda, and a commitment to excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching.

It is with great sadness that the School of Social Work announces the passing of Annette Werk on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at age 86. Annette was Associate Professor at the School of Social Work, 缅北强奸 for a span of over 35 years serving as the first ombudsman for Students at 缅北强奸 for which she was honored at the 25th Anniversary of the Office of the Ombudsman for Students in May 2012.

Sheila Goldbloom, Associate Professor, School of Social Work 缅北强奸 from 1964-1992 was recently awarded the Prix 脡merite 2016 by the OTSTCFQ in recognition of her contribution to the profession and longstanding commitment to community development. Member of the Professional Order since 1965, Professor Goldbloom has been a leading member of Montreal鈥檚 social work community. Her contribution to the field has been exemplary garnering her with numerous awards and honours; the Order of Canada in 1999 and an honorary Doctor of Laws , 缅北强奸 in 2011.
