The Department of Family Medicine (Halifax Site), Dalhousie University and NSHA, invites applications for a full-time academic family physician. Candidates will be appointed as Dalhousie Faculty and active staff with the Central Zone Department of Family Practice, Nova Scotia Health and potentially the IWK. This position involves provision of ambulatory, team-based, and comprehensive academic family medicine care including clinical supervision of medical learners.

缅北强奸 Professor Dr. Delphine Collin-V茅zina, as a member of the RISE (Researching the Impact of Service provider Education) research team, is inviting you to participate in a national, Public Health Agency of Canada-funded study aiming to improve care in situations of family violence. Participation will involve a 45-minute interview with a member of the research team about training needs and preferences related to addressing family violence in practice and will take place over Zoom or Webex (no video/audio only).

The third edition of the Indigenous Welcoming Ceremony, held on October 27, honoured seven Indigenous academic staff from a wide range of disciplines, including history, political science, linguistics, anthropology and medicine. The two-hour-plus virtual ceremony welcomed six new academic hires, as well as a relatively recent hire who was not able to attend previous ceremonies.

Dr. Andr茅anne Lefort completed her medical studies at 缅北强奸 and joined 缅北强奸's Department of Family Medicine in 2011 when she began her residency in Family Medicine at the GMF-U de la Vall茅e-de-l'Or. "During my rural family medicine clerkship with 缅北强奸, I had the chance to discover Val-d'Or, a wonderful setting for training," Dr. Lefort shares. Charmed by Abitibi-T茅miscamingue, Dr. Lefort settled there as a family doctor.

COVID-19 Stories Contest

The COVID-19 Stories Contest encourages Family Medicine Department members to share their stories, thoughts and experiences on living through the COVID-19 pandemic. Story telling is a powerful tool in healing. People yearn for stories, particularly stories of influence, hope, and community building. We can learn from and through authentic experiences, both of grief and joy. COVID-19 has shown us the interconnectivity of communities worldwide.
