On November 20, 2018, leaders from 缅北强奸 traveled to Beijing to attend the first Joint Symposium on Primary Health Care, From Policy to Action: Strengthening Primary Health Care as the Foundation of our Health Systems. From October 17 to 21, 2018, the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) held its 22nd World Conference in Seoul, South Korea, where more than 5000 family doctors and residents from all around the world convened. We are delighted to announce that Dr. Kathleen Rice will join the Department of Family Medicine as a full-time Assistant Professor starting January 2019. She comes to us as a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)-funded Postdoctoral Fellow from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Rice earned a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Toronto and a Master鈥檚 degree in Social Anthropology from Concordia University.

On September 29, close to 300 students from the four Faculties of Medicine in Quebec and from the University of Ottawa were united for a day of workshops and talks on topics ranging from Indigenous health to health of gender minorities, all whilst exploring rural family medicine and maternal and prenatal care. Dr. Guillaume Charbonneau, president of the College of Family Physicians, was the keynote speaker for this event.
