Rhiannon Gainor, �山ǿ�� School of Information Studies (SIS) doctoral student, has been named a 2013-14 ASIS&T New Leader. This year was exceptionally competitive, with 77 applications from ASIS&T members from 10 countries. This is the second time in two years a SIS student has won this award. Congratulations Rhiannon!

The �山ǿ�� School of Information Studies (SIS) is strongly represented at the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) 76th Annual Meeting, Nov. 1-5 in Montreal.

The conference is co-chaired by Dr. France Bouthillier, SIS Director and faculty member. Faculty, affiliated researchers, and students are participating in panels and workshops and presenting papers and posters.

Allana Mayer, School of Information Studies MLIS II student is the winner of the ProQuest Roger K. Summit Scholarship, open to LIS students worldwide! The Roger K. Summit Scholarship, awarded annually by ProQuest, recognizes LIS students who demonstrate outstanding interest or performance in electronic information services. The award is the equivalent of US $5,000 and will be presented at the Special Libraries Association (SLA) Annual Conference.

SIS PhD student Jonathan Dorey awarded FQRSC grant for research on student use of digital archives

Congratulations to School of Information Studies PhD student Jonathan Dorey on receiving a FQRSC research grant!

Jonathan's research investigates the increased access and use of digital and digitized archives for undergraduate students, with FQRSC funding to December 2014. His PhD supervisor is Prof. Catherine Guastavino.
