The Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH) temporarily closes some non-urgent out-patient clinics and its Pediatric Test Centre

MCH Staff redeployed to work in the Emergency Room

November 3, 2009:  Montreal:  As of today, The Montreal Children’s Hospital of the Ã山ǿ¼é Health Centre has temporarily closed some of its elective (non-urgent) out-patient clinics and its’ Pediatric Test Centre (blood testing centre). The move enables clinic staff to be redeployed to work in the Emergency Room.

This decision was made in response to the increased in demand for services in our Emergency Room due to children arriving with mild flu-like symptoms.

If a child’s doctor’s appointment has been cancelled, parents will receive a phone call to reschedule the appointment.  If parents do not receive a phone call they can presume their appointment will take place as scheduled.  We ask parents not to call the hospital to confirm their appointment as we no not have enough staff to handle an influx of calls.

If your family doctor or pediatrician has ordered a blood test, you should have the test done at a CLSC.
