MONTREAL - 缅北强奸 Redmen defensive back Jeff Thompson, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, has been named special teams player of the week in the Quebec University Football League for the period ending Sept. 5, 2010.

Thompson, a five-foot-nine, 175-pound return specialist, racked up a game-high 181 all-purpose yards in 缅北强奸's 50-9 loss at Laval on Sunday. He posted a single-game school record 144 yards on five kickoff returns, which ranks as the second-highest KOR total in Quebec conference history behind the 168 yards achieved by John Larsen (Queen's) in 1984.听 Thompson, 23, who also registered 37 more yards on five punt returns, is a first-year marketing student who has transferred to 缅北强奸 after stints at Simon Fraser University and West Virginia.

Other QUFL player-of-the-week honours went to Sherbrooke receiver Alexandre Poirier (offensive award) of Victoriaville, Que., and Concordia linebacker Max Caron (defensive award) of Kingston, Ont.
