MONTREAL – Senior Rebecca Martindale of Kingston, Ont., and Marie-Andrée Leclerc-Auger, a freshman from Sherbrooke, each tallied twice as Ã山ǿ¼é doubled the Syracuse University Orange and won for the 23rd straight time in a women’s hockey non-conference game at McConnell Arena, Tuesday.

Ã山ǿ¼é, the No.1-ranked team in Canada, had a 30-28 margin in shots and snapped a six-game win streak for the Orange, a new team in the College Hockey America conference.

Martindale scored power play goals at 6:23 of the first period and 3:26 of the second, followed by an early third-period pair from Leclerc-Auger, who improved her season total to 36 goals in 35 games overall.

Rookie Megan Skelly of Taber, Alta., and Julie Rising, a sophomore from Anchorage, Alaska, replied for Syracuse at 9:26 and 10:47 of the final period.

Netminder Charline Labonté of Boisbriand, earned the win and improved to 27-2-0 overall, including a 4-2-0 record against NCAA teams.

Lucy Schoedel of Ithaca, N.Y., was saddled with the loss, making 16 saves on 20 shots, including a penalty shot saved off sniper Ann-Sophie Bettez in the third period. Schoedel was replaced by understudy Alison Lee, a native of Los Altos, Calif., who turned aside all 10 shots she faced in the final 17:30 of the game.

Syracuse dropped to 9-16-3 overall, while Ã山ǿ¼é improved to 32-2-0. The Martlets, 17-0 in the Quebec conference, will close out their regular season at home to Concordia on Saturday at 7 p.m. in a bid to go undefeated in league play for the second straight year.
