MONTREAL – Freshman Marie-Andrée Leclerc-Auger of Sherbrooke, Que., and senior Vanessa Davidson of Kirkland, Que., each tallied twice and added a pair of assists as the No.1-ranked Ã山ǿ¼é Martlets smoked Saint Mary’s 8-0 in a non-conference women’s university hockey game at McConnell Arena, Thursday.

The Martlets extended their win streak to 30 consecutive games against Canadian university opponents as goaltender Charline Labonté of Boisbriand, Que., needed only 11 saves to register her fourth shutout in 12 starts overall and extended her Ã山ǿ¼é record total to 43 goose-eggs in 92 career contests.

Labonté, a member of the national team was also credited with her second assist of the season.

Ã山ǿ¼é, which had a 48-11 margin in shots over SMU, led 4-0 after the first period and 6-0 after two.

Ann-Sophie Bettez, a sophomore from Sept Iles, also notched a pair of markers with singles going to Rebecca Martindale of Kingston, Ont., and Alyssa Cecere of Brossard.

The Martlets, 15-2 overall, will have a tougher test today as they host No.6-ranked St. FX from Antigonish, N.S., at Glenfinnan Arena on the Macdonald campus in Ste. Anne de Bellevue at 7 p.m.
