Martlets kick Mustangs in Old Four soccer opener

KINGSTON, ONT -- Veteran Alexandra Morin-Boucher scored the game-winner as the 缅北强奸 women's soccer team extended their preseason win streak to four with a 2-0 whitewash over the Western Ontario Mustangs at the Old Four tournament on Frank Tindall Field in Kingston, Saturday.

Morin-Boucher, who tallied for the third straight game, converted a pass from freshman Hannah Rivkin in the 29th minute of play.听 Rookie Stephanie Avery netted an insurance marker in the 64th minute.

Freshman netminder Val茅rie Labb茅 made two saves to register her third shutout in four starts, upping her preseason record to 4-0.

No cards were shown in the match.

"We controlled the game and showed once again some early promises of a strong organized style and we are pleased to advance to the final against听 Toronto," said Martlets head coach Marc Mounicot.

The Martlets will play Toronto in the tourney final on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Varsity Blues topped host Queen's 2-0. Kate Crowley scored early at the six minute mark, and substitute Aisha Lewis added an insurance marker in the 68th minute. U of T goalkeeper Kat Vulic recorded the clean sheet.
