ST. EUSTACHE, QUE -- Sophomore Hannah Simmons of West Vancouver scored twice and set up three others as the 缅北强奸 women's soccer team spanked UQTR 6-0 at the St Eustache Soccer Complex on Saturday.

Cristina Di Caprio, a senior from Laval, Que., also tallied twice and added one helper.

The teams were in a scoreless tie at halftime as UQTR goalkeeper Marion Lalonde made many key saves against the Martlets, who dominated the play in midfield and were able to create numerous high quality plays and scoring chances.

Ten minutes into the second half, freshman Kyrin Dhaliwal of Burnaby, B.C., finally opened the floodgates after re-directing a corner kick by Laura Gibson.

Senior Caroline Pelletier rounded out the scoring for the sixth 缅北强奸 goal after a nice run through the middle, finishing a through-pass from Simmons.

"It has been a long time since we had a player come up with such a solid offensive output the way that Simmons did," said Marc Mounicot, head coach of the Martlets.

"We were also solid on the defensive side with Katherine Green and Caroline Pelletier, who was moved back from her traditional forward position for the first time in her four seasons. They were solid the entire game and controlled the few opportunities that UQTR was able to create."

Mounicot indicated that Pelletier will be used at that unfamiliar position during the rest of the winter to control and mark the strong strikers on the Montreal, Laval and Sherbrooke teams when playoffs begin in March.

Next game is a showdown against UQAM on Feb. 14 at 3 p.m.
