Glen Campus infrastructure agreement approved by City of Montreal鈥檚 Agglomeration Council
The 缅北强奸 Health Centre (MUHC) confirmed today that the City of Montreal鈥檚 Agglomeration Council had approved the agreement on the sharing of infrastructure expenses and responsibilities related to the construction of the Glen Campus at its meeting on November 29, 2007.
鈥淭he approval of this agreement by the Agglomeration Council is an important step that will ensure that the Glen Campus is easily accessible and user friendly by the time we鈥檙e ready to treat our first patients,鈥 stated Dr. Arthur T. Porter, MUHC Director General and CEO.
Two weeks ago, the MUHC reported that the infrastructure agreement included a list of projects valued at $59.5M, some of which would fall under the responsibility of one or the other party, while the majority would be assumed jointly. To ensure rigorous management, a project office will be created and be managed by the City of Montreal. A Steering Committee will be formed with representatives from the MUHC, the City of Montreal, Westmount and the Office of the Executive Director of the Modernization of Montreal鈥檚 University Hospitals to provide strategic direction to the project office鈥檚 team. And finally, a financial platform has been set and a monetary reserve set aside for inflation to ensure the budget is respected.
鈥淲e鈥檙e ready to get started so that roadwork gets underway in spring 2008,鈥 said Pierre Major, Associate Director of Infrastructure Planning and Implementation, MUHC Redevelopment Project. 鈥淭he project office will be set up in the coming weeks.鈥
