Daniel Jutras receives 2006 Durnford Award
The John W. Durnford Teaching Excellence Award went to Daniel Jutras this year, in recognition of the quality of his teaching and the inspiration he brings to his students. Professor Jutras played a key role in developing the Faculty's transsystemic law program, and it is for his two transsystemic law courses that he earned this accolade from his students. Students noted his wit and his lively presentation style, and appreciated his dynamic and exacting approach to law, urging them always to think and analyze, and to consider the social justice issues behind everything they study.
Rosalie Jukier, who herself was presented with the Durnford Award in 2004, introduced Daniel Jutras during Convocation. Past winners of the Durnford Award include Jean-Guy Belley, Nicholas Kasirer, Stephen Toope, Dennis Klinck, Blaine Baker, Ron Slar and Shauna Van Praagh.
