Published: 21 February 2012

OTTAWA (CIS) -Three 缅北强奸 varsity squads find themselves listed among the CIS Top 10 national rankings this week, including the Redmen and Martlets hockey teams, both listed at No.2, an dthe men's swim team at No.8.

There are no changes this week at the top of the CIS rankings. Regina (women's basketball), Carleton (men's basketball), Wilfrid Laurier (women's hockey), UNB (men's hockey), UBC (women's swimming), Toronto (men's swimming), Guelph (women's track and field), Windsor (men's track and field), Brock (women's wrestling) and Concordia (men's wrestling) all maintain their No. 1 status.

The CIS winter championship season kicks off later this week with the top varsity swimmers in the country competing at the University of Montreal (Feb. 23-25) and CIS' best wrestlers taking to the mat at Lakehead University (Feb. 24-25) in Thunder Bay, Ont.

In swimming, Calgary hopes to defend both team banners. The Dinos head into the CIS meet ranked second on the women's side and third in men's competition.

In wrestling, the Alberta women claimed their first-ever CIS title a year ago, while the Concordia men triumphed for the seventh time in school history. The Pandas go into the national tournament as the second seed behind Brock, while the Stingers are favoured to capture another men's banner.

In women's basketball, top-ranked Regina (20-0) defeated No. 3 Saskatchewan 83-72 last Saturday in Saskatoon to finish the regular season with an unblemished record for the first time in program history. The Cougars open the Canada West playoffs at home against Winnipeg (9-11), with the first game of the best-of-three quarter-final series scheduled for Friday night.

In men's hoops, Carleton dominated Toronto 99-64 and Ryerson 107-64 to end conference play with a perfect 22-0 mark for the second straight year. The Ravens will host an OUA quarter-final on Saturday but will only know their opponents following Wednesday's opening round.

In women's hockey, Laurier (25-0-1 / 2-0 playoffs) swept Brock, 4-2 and 5-1, in the opening round of the OUA post-season. The Golden Hawks host Windsor (12-12-2 / 2-0 playoffs) on Wednesday in Game 1 of a best-of-three conference semifinal series.

In men's hockey, UNB (20-5-3) enjoyed a bye in the first round of the AUS playoffs following its first-place finish in the regular season. The Varsity Reds host No. 9 UPEI (18-10-0 / 2-1 playoffs) on Friday night to kick off their best-of-five semifinal series.
