OTTAWA (CIS) - The No. 1-ranked 缅北强奸 Martlets extended their overall winning streak to 61 straight games over the past weekend and are now six shy of Alberta's all-time CIS women's hockey record.
听
The is no movement at the top of the CIS rankings this week as reigning national champions remain at No. 1 in women's hockey (缅北强奸), men's hockey (UNB), women's basketball (Simon Fraser), men's basketball (Carleton) and women's volleyball (UBC), while McMaster holds the pole position for the second straight week in men's volleyball.

Women's hockey

Two-time defending national champion 缅北强奸 improved to 7-0 in conference play with a 4-2 defeat of Carleton in its lone outing of the past week.
听
The victory allowed the Martlets to extend their overall win streak against CIS opponents to 61 consecutive games dating back to December of 2007, six shy of the all-time CIS mark held by Alberta since 2005. They also lead a 36th straight Top 10 dating back to November of 2007.
听
No. 1 缅北强奸 enjoys a break in the QSSF schedule this week and will head downeast to the Maritimes to put their streak on the line against No.5-St.FX, plus Saint Mary's and Dalhousie before resuming conference play on November 28 against Carleton. Friday's game against the X-Women will be webcast on www.ssncanada.ca at 6 p.m. Eastern.

Men's hockey

Reining University Cup champion UNB improved to 10-0 in conference play over the past weekend with a 9-3 win over StFX and a 7-1 defeat of Dalhousie. The V-Reds, who received all 17 available first-place votes in the poll, have been simply dominant since the start of the regular season, with six wins coming by at least a four-goal margin.
听
Back in 2007-08, when they set a number of AUS records en route to an amazing 26-1-1 mark, the V-Reds started conference play with 11 straight victories before dropping a 5-4 shootout decision to the Moncton Aigles Bleus. UNB goes for win number 11 Friday against UPEI and, potentially, number 12 on November 27... against Moncton.

Women's basketball
听
Defending national champion Simon Fraser improved to 5-0 in conference play with an impressive 24-point win over No. 3-ranked Regina (3-1), 85-61, and a 102-43 domination of Brandon. The duel against Regina was a rematch of last year's CIS final, won 68-62 by SFU.

The Clan, who have now led 30 of 31 coaches polls dating back to the start of the 2007-08 schedule, visit winless Fraser Valley (0-4) for a pair this weekend.

Men's basketball

The reigning CIS champion Ravens (4-0), winners of six of the last seven W.P. McGree trophies, were impressive in a pair of wins over top OUA West programs, dominating No. 6 Windsor 95-62 and defeating Western 80-72 in a rematch of last winter's CIS semifinal.

Carleton, which is No. 1 for the 30th time in 31 polls dating back to the start of the 2007-08 campaign, hosts Laurier (1-3) and Waterloo (3-1) this weekend.

Women's volleyball

Two-time reigning CIS champion UBC (6-0) got back on the court following a one-week break in the Canada West schedule and scored a pair of decisive straight-set wins over Saskatchewan (0-6).
听
The Thunderbirds face another winless opponent this weekend as they host 0-6 Thompson Rivers Friday and Saturday.

The two-time defending OUA champion Marauders had a week off after dethroning reigning CIS champion Alberta at No. 1.

McMaster is back on the court this weekend with road tilts against Waterloo (4-2) and Laurier (1-5).
