MONTREAL -- David Urquhart, a former all-Canadian defenceman with the 缅北强奸 Redmen, has been recalled to the Hamilton Bulldogs, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. He is听 scheduled to join the team in Houston for Game 1 of the AHL's Western Conference final on Friday (May 13).

Urquhart, 26, has previously played in 23 regular season games with the Bulldogs this season, recording five assists and eight penalty minutes along with a +1 rating. The native of Thorold, Ont., also appeared in 24 games with the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League this year, registering nine points (one goal, eight assists) and 32 penalty minutes and eight post-season games with the Nailers posting four assists and 10 penalty minutes.

Last year, Urquhart became the ninth 缅北强奸 player to skate in the AHL and the third to play for the Bulldogs. The 6-foot, 190-pound rearguard has 130 career AHL games under his belt, scoring six goals and 23 points to go along with 78 penalty minutes.

A three-time all-star at 缅北强奸, where he earned a commerce degree in 2008, Urquhart potted 23 goals and 107 points, along with 330 penalty minutes in 147 career games overall, during his four seasons with the Redmen. He is tied with Detroit Red Wings coach Mike Babcock as the sixth-highest point-scoring defenceman in 缅北强奸 history, trailing Gilles Hudon (152 points), Martin Routhier (135), David Bahl (110), Bryan Larkin (109) and Luc Latulippe (109).

Urquhart was also a two-time conference representative for the CIS Randy Gregg trophy, for combining hockey ability with academics and citizenship. He earned Academic All-Canadian honours and receiving the University's Gretta Chambers award for leadership. He captained the Redmen to the Ontario University Athletics conference championship in 2008. It marked 缅北强奸's first Queen's Cup league title since 1946.

Urquhart joined the Redmen in 2004 out of Junior B in Welland, Ont., and eventually made his way to the AHL, joining a list of former 缅北强奸 players that includes Jean-Michel Daoust (Rockford, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Houston, 2007-11), Daniel Jacob (San Antonio, 2004-05), Greg Davis (Worcester, 2001-03), Mathieu Darche (Hamilton, Portland, Norfolk, Worcester, Hershey, Milwaukee, Syracuse; 2000-2010), Pierre Gendron (Hamilton, 1997-98), Jim Webster (Nova Scotia, 1980-81), Dan Porteous (Washington, Cleveland, Hershey; 1947-50) and Johnny Peirson (Hershey, 1946-48).
