Claude Cohen-Tannoudji, professor and Nobel Laureate (he shared the 1997 Nobel Prize in Physics for his role in the development of methods to cool and trap atoms with laser light). The Lectures will consist of a public lecture on Thursday, October 14 (Manipulating Atoms with Light, Moyse Hall, pre-lecture refreshments at 7:30 pm, lecture at 8 pm) and a colloquium in the Dept of Physics on Friday, October 15 (Ultracold Bosonic and Fermionic Gases, Rm M1, Strathcona Hall, 3:30 pm).
