Advanced Computer Security

Vincent Martineau

Computer crimes today are on the rise, thanks to organized crime rings usually based in Eastern Europe getting involved in this highly lucrative business.听 If you have been using a computer on a regular basis in the past couple of years, chances are that you were the target of at least one type of computer attack such as credit card or identity theft, extortion or wanton destruction of your data. This presentation will help you understand what possible vectors of attack can be used against you, how you can protect yourself more effectively and how to deal with the aftermath of a successful attack

Solar Air Heaters to Reduce the Ventilation Heat Load of Livestock Shelters

S茅bastien Cordeau

Within a concept of sustainability, solar radiation is an interesting heat source for applications requiring a limited amount of energy, such as the heating of cold fresh air used in venting livestock shelters. The objective of this project was to evaluate the efficiency of a new design in solar air heaters consisting of an unprotected perforated black corrugated siding where the incoming fresh ventilation air picks up heat from the face and the back of the solar collector. The performance of six solar air heaters installed on two broilers barns located in the Southern region of the Province of Quebec (St Jean Baptiste) was monitored over two years.
