These awards for Canadian doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows are worth $50,000 each year for three years of study and research. Launched in 2008, the Vanier Scholarship program helps Canadian institutions attract and retain highly qualified doctoral students in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and/or engineering and health research, establishing Canada as a global centre for research excellence and higher training. Recipients of the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships demonstrate leadership skills and a high level of scholarly achievement in graduate studies.
