Design and Analysis of Data-driven Pricing and Supply Chain Strategies for Online Multi-sided Platforms

Recently, there is growing research focusing on the use of data-driven methods for the management of multi-sided retail platforms that are exposed to increasing degrees of online and offline data streams.

The literature has proposed various approaches to manage these risks, which can be broadly categorized into two categories: (i) front-end (demand-side) risks, and (ii) back-end (supply-side) risks.

In this research proposal, based on data-driven techniques, we will consider both front-end and back-end risks simultaneously and develop and analyze effective strategies to minimize logistic and supply chain-related costs for online, offline and hybrid retail environments.

We firmly believe that effectively accounting for the data-driven issues such as customer choice, forecasting, assortment, inventory, and shipping will ultimately help firms to build sustainable and competitive supply chain strategies that can adapt to a variety of important scenarios.
