Join us on听November 19th听2017 for a special performance by I Medici di 缅北强奸 ("Physicians of 缅北强奸") Orchestra under the musical leadership of Maestro听Gilles Auger.听St茅phane T茅treault, cello will be the featured soloist. For three straight years, St茅phane was ranked amongst "CBC Radio's 30 Hot Canadian classical musicians under 30". He plays the 1707 鈥淐ountess of Stainlein, Ex-Paganini鈥 Stradivarius cello, on generous loan by Mme Jacqueline Desmarais.

Based at the 缅北强奸 Health Centre, the Cedars Cancer Foundation鈥檚 mission is to support comprehensive care for cancer patients at the hospital.听 For nearly 50 years, the Foundation鈥檚 fund raising and volunteers have made possible a range of free services supporting the minds, bodies and spirits of cancer patients including children, adolescents, and adults; and those on palliative care.听 These services would not be possible without your generous support.

Drawn from a talented pool of doctors, students, medical faculty, colleagues and friends, the orchestra brings a unique artistic and social dimension to medical education and the medical profession. I Medici di 缅北强奸 ensemble is distinctive as an institution at the University, perhaps the only organized activity at the University that brings over 65 staff, students, alumni and friends together for regular social interactions and community outreach and support, such as these special concerts.
Maestro听Gilles Auger, conductor
Born in Quebec City, Gilles Auger is a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School of Music (New York) and a student of the late Leonard Bernstein. He is currently a conductor and teacher at the Quebec Conservatory and music director of the L茅vis Symphony Orchestra.
St茅phane T茅treault,听cellist听
A native of Montreal, St茅phane is the Soloist-in-Residence of the Orchestre M茅tropolitain and the recipient of many awards and honors.听听 In 2016, St茅phane made his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of Maestro N茅zet-S茅guin and performed at the prestigious Gstaad Menuhin Festival in Switzerland. St茅phane was a student of the late cellist and conductor Yuli Turovsky for more than 10 years. He holds a Master鈥檚 Degree in Music Performance from the University of Montreal.听听 He plays the 1707 "Countess of Stainlein, Ex-Paganini" Stradivarius cello, on generous loan by Mme Jacqueline Desmarais.
