Workshop: Analyzing census data with R

Overview:聽In this workshop you will learn how to efficiently find and extract census data and its geographical boundaries in R for the Canadian, the US and EU censuses.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to
聽聽聽聽聽 路 find and extract data efficiently from the Canadian census
聽聽聽聽聽 路 find and extract data efficiently from the US census
聽聽聽聽聽 路 find and extract data efficiently from the Eurostat census
聽聽聽聽聽 路 extract geographic boundary files, combine them with census data and display them on a map

Prerequisites:
聽聽聽聽聽 路 Introductory knowledge of R, e.g. from 缅北强奸's聽R summer camp,聽or from our聽Introduction to programming with R聽workshop.
聽聽聽聽聽 路 You need to bring your own laptop for this workshop. Install R and RStudio on your computer. You can find installation instructions聽here. Please contact us (cdsi.science at mcgill.ca) if you are having trouble with installation. If you would like to take this workshop, but are unable to bring a laptop, please contact us as soon as possible.聽
