R Summer camp

The Math and R Summer Camps are geared towards 缅北强奸 incoming graduate students and members of the CSDC. Other members of the 缅北强奸 community are encouraged to apply, although preference will be given to incoming graduate students from sponsoring units. Registration deadline is July 10th. We will let you know if you have a spot by July 15th.

Workshop II: Introduction to data science in R and documenting in RMarkdown

This workshop will introduce you to R, a common statistical programming language used across many courses at 缅北强奸 as well as RMarkdown (typesetting language useful for producing documents that contain mathematical content and code). These are very useful and powerful tools but they have somewhat of a steep learning curve. So, the goal of this part of the workshop is to get you up a good part of that learning curve.

听 听 听 Day 1: Introduction to the basics of R and the graphical user interface RStudio
听 听 听 Day 2: Working with data (cleaning, pre-processing, dealing with missing values)
听 听 听 Day 3: Visualizing data and producing graphs
听 听 听 Day 4: Statistical prequel and more tips and tricks on working with R
听 听 听 Day 5: Typesetting using RMarkdown and RStudio Add-Ins

More detailed information will be sent to participants in early August.

Date: from Monday, August 21st听to Friday, August 25th.
Time: from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. Bring your own mug! Coffee will be provided.
Location:听听classroom 150, on the Downtown Campus.
