Thinking the Red Square 鈥 Celebrating recent scholarship on the Quebec Student Protests

Media@缅北强奸, in collaboration with the Mobile Media Lab at Concordia University, and the Canada Research Chair in Technology and Citizenship, invites you to a 鈥5脿7鈥 launching two scholarly collections inspired by the Quebec student protests of 2012. 鈥淧rintemps 脡rable 鈥 Quebec鈥檚 Maple Spring of 2012鈥 features as a supplement of the latest volume of Theory & Event, while 鈥淥ut of the Mouths of 鈥淐asseroles鈥: Textes qui bougent au rythme du carr茅 rouge,鈥 was published as a special spring issue of the online Wi: Journal of Mobile Media.

The launch will be held at , 6731 de l鈥橢splanade, on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. (Food will be provided, cash bar).

Articles cover the social, cultural, artistic, political, and media aspects of the Quebec student protests in early 2012 against proposed tuition hikes, and both collections feature work by Media@缅北强奸 members (Professors Darin Barney, Carrie Rentschler and Jonathan Sterne), as well as a Media@缅北强奸 grant awardee (AHCS doctoral student, Gretchen King).
